About Bess

First “curvy” fit model, Bess Knox proudly reshaped the fashion industry as the human mannequin, fashion consultant, and voice of the hourglass consumer for the first ever curvy lines for dozens of global well-known brands. Bess is a wife, mother of two, speaker, NYU-certified life coach, former NYC Ford model with nearly twenty years’ experience in commercial print, showroom & fit.

Driven by a profound concern for the confidence crisis plaguing women and teens, Bess leverages her unique experiences and insights to challenge and change the harmful narratives propagated by the media. She’s committed to fostering confidence, hope, and purpose in women and teen girls, advocating that true beauty is not confined by physical attributes but is born from a sense of purpose, contribution, and the assurance of being known, loved, and enough. Bess is passionate about helping women and teen girls build self-esteem, embrace what makes them unique, turn intentions into action, and make life revisions to live out full potential. She loves to share her story of Hope and much prefers to now be viewed as a role model rather than a fashion model.

Bess has a BA in Psychology and continued her education becoming a certified life coach in 2010 at New York University. She then began coaching and speaking in NYC and has since guided a diverse clientele of entrepreneurs, models, actors, fashion designers, stay at home moms, top realtors, and teen girls.

After becoming a mother in 2013 Bess retired from her modeling career as her unconditional love for her daughter not only deepened but also fueled a steadfast commitment to supporting and championing young women and girls. It also sparked a newfound passion to offer support to other mothers navigating the intricate journey of identity shifts in motherhood.

In 2014 she returned to her roots in Nashville, TN, where she was born and raised, and where a year later her family expanded with the joyful arrival of her son. Bess works alongside her best friend & husband Brandon, as a partner, team coach, and director of community engagement and philanthropy for the Knox Team at Compass real estate and is a Compass Cares ambassador for Nashville. As the team coach Bess is especially proud that The Knox Team has been recognized as the 4x #1 listing team four times and 2 x #1 selling team in Nashville! The Wall Street Journal Real Trends also recently honored The Knox Team as #1 in Tennessee and #2 in the United States for small-sized real estate teams.

Away from the podium and coaching sessions, Bess can be found loudly cheering for her children at various games around town or immersed in writing her forthcoming book. Her favorite things are family dinners, bedtime cuddles with her children, date nights with her husband, hikes with her girlfriends and her dog Blue, family beach getaways, and anything dark chocolate!

Known for her empathy, ability to connect, advocacy, and deep commitment to community service, Bess a proud adoptee serves on the policy committee for the Adoption Project, volunteers with her church’s youth group and her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and has previously served on the boards of TN Alliance for Kids and Gifted Hands.
